France - Bennes-Marrel of Andrézieux-Bouthéon and its parent company, Benalu Group of Liévin, France at Solutrans 2019 in Lyon, France held last November introduced a new steel / aluminium hybrid tipper specially designed and optimized for the transport of scrap metal called, Steeltrack.

Steeltrack is a large volume semi-trailer measuring 11.4m long and with a volume of 61 cubic metres (m3). Its body is made of Hardox 450 steel with high resistance to abrasion. It has an aluminium frame developed by Benalu that allows it to have a total weight of less than 8.3t. Unlike most tipping semi-trailers, it does not have a single front ram but two underbody cylinders for greater stability to tipping. Bennes-Marrel says with two cylinders under the body the discharge when tipping is 30% faster than with a single front ram. Steeltrack does not require specific hydraulic equipment on the tractor.
