Volvo Bus UK to add fully built 9700 coach model to UK portfolio in 2020

UK / Sweden - Volvo Bus UK & Ireland of Warwick, UK has signalled its intention to introduce its 9700 fully built coach model to the UK market. Shown at the recent Coach & Bus exhibition in Birmingham, a left-hand drive 9700 featuring a close specification to the proposed UK offering, was presented to highlight what is to come to the UK in 2020. This is in addition to the tri-axle 9900 coach model already.
Based on a Volvo B11R chassis, the 9700 was shown in two-axle format. A range of length options and tri-axle versions can be specified. Two-axle variants range from 10.4m to 13.8m in length and tri-axles range from 11.2 – 14.3m. The powertrain comprises a 410bhp Volvo D11C engine and I-Shift transmission. Bodywork across the 9900 and 9700 ranges was revised last year with significant improvements in styling and aerodynamics.
