Volvo Bus delivering 321 more buses to Bogotá TransMilenio system

Brazil - Volvo Trucks Latin America Ltda, which has its headquarters and manufacturing facilities in São José dos Pinhais, Curitiba, Paraná State, has won another major order of 321 buses for the TransMilenio system in Bogotá, Colombia.

This order, which comes shortly after completing delivery of 700 articulated and bi-articulated buses for the BRT system in Bogotá, is made up of 310 single buses to be built on Volvo’s B8R rear engine chassis for operating on the zonal lines of the city’s integrated transport system. The vehicles have been acquired by three large Colombian operators: 143 units for Este Es Mi Bus, 71 units for ETIB and, 96 units for Consórcio Express, which has also purchased five articulated Volvo B340M chassis and six bi-articulated Volvo B340M chassis to make up the total order. 250 vehicles are to be fitted with bodies built by Busscar of Colombia SAS* and 71 with Marcopolo bodies. Deliveries were scheduled to be made in Q4/2020 and for completion in 2021.
