Scania sets target for decreasing emissions in supply chain

SwedenScania AB, a commercial vehicle manufacturer and subsidiary of the Traton Group based in Södertälje, Sweden, has announced its aim to reduce emissions in its supply chain by up to 90% by 2030. 

Key components and materials in the supply chain which Scania will target include batteries, steel, aluminium and iron. Battery and steel production in particular are massive emitters of greenhouse gases. The Swedish manufacturer will begin with a life cycle assessment of the environmental impacts of materials and components sourced through its supply chain before drawing up a plan to decarbonise its European supply chain in particular.
