Strong demand for Brazilian bus bodies pushes up production by 27.6% in the first half of 2022

Brazil – According to data from Fabus (National Association of Bus Manufacturers), based in São Paulo, after more than two years of a severe and continuous downturn, the Brazilian bus body market recorded sustained growth in the first six months of this year.

Registrations grew by 27.6% to 6,599 in the six-month period from 5,173 units in the same period in the prior year. Exports of bus bodies on chassis also contributed to production, rising 51.1% to 1,553units (1,028). While 8,152 units were manufactured in the first six months of 2022 compared with 6,201 units in the same period last year, an increase of 31.5%.
