Skanska set to build USD480 million bus depot in New York

USA / Sweden – Last year, construction development company, Skanska AB, based in Stockholm, Sweden, signed a contract with the Metropolitan Transport Authority of New York to build a new e-charging bus depot in Jamaica, Queens, New York, USA, expected for completion in 2026. With construction beginning, this month, the USD480 million project will involve demolishing the existing bus depot, and building a new facility that offers 272 standard bus equivalent parking bays with charging access, three bus washing lanes, two chassis washing stations, an interior bus washing station, fifteen maintenance bays, rooftop bus parking and a three-story administrative building.
