Germany / Poland – On 16 May, MAN Truck & Bus SE, a subsidiary of the Traton Group based in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, announced the opening of an expansion to its heavy truck assembly plant in Krakow, Poland, sixteen months after breaking ground at the site

The existing plant size has been expanded by about a third and now covers 41 hectares. The extension comprises a 32,000-square-metre hall for cab production and a 10,000-square-metre hall for truck modification and final assembly. The original budget for the expansion was EUR130m, but MAN stated it has now spent around EUR200m altogether. Approximately 1,500 jobs have been created, bringing the total workforce at the site to 2,600.
