Zhongtong and BYD supplying electric buses for Mendoza in Argentina

Argentina / China - The governor of the province of Mendoza, Argentina, has approved the importation of 18 electric buses from Chinese builders, BYD and Zhongtong, to provide passenger transportation services in the city. The buses are to be used by Sociedade de Transporte de Mendoza (STM) and will replace aging trolleybus models.

The new service is to be similar to that adopted in the city of Buenos Aires, by service providers that will be responsible for not only importing the vehicles but also providing the service, in partnership with the manufacturers.
