Chinese manufacturer agrees to supply 3,000 battery packs to electric bus-maker VKTR in 2025

Kontrolmatik has agreed to deliver 2 GWh of cells in 2026 and 5 GWh in 2027 to ONE, which will assemble them in battery modules and packs in Michigan.

The joint initiative plans to launch its first 2.5 MWh energy storage system in the UK by the final quarter of 2025. This system will utilise retired Forsee Power batteries, transforming them into a resource for grid support and renewable energy integration.

Certified for vehicle use, the company believes this new product will help Forsee enter new e-mobility markets (LCV and agriculture) and grow market share in existing territories. 

The American startup announced a partnership with the Japanese giant for the supply of cylindrical lithium-ion ‘2170’ cells, offering an energy density above 800 watt-hours per litre.

The BMS is designed to maximise the efficiency and performance of the batteries while being cost-effective, helping manufacturers reduce the overall costs of vehicle development​.

This was after an initial investment in 2022 by the company’s venture capital arm, Carrier Ventures. The company will integrate Addvolt’s battery systems into its refrigeration units and absorb all 60 employees into the Carrier Climate Solutions Transportation segment.

The companies have agreed to manufacturer ‘Swift’ semi solid-state batteries at Mullen’s Fullerton facility in California, a 1-GWh site which it opened in 2023.
