Brazil - The Board of Directors of the Ministry of Education of the Brazilian Government in the capital city of Brasília, Distrito Federal, on January 6, 2021, by notice of suspension, has indefinitely stopped the competitive tender for the supply of 6,900 buses under the Caminho da Escola Program (Federal School Bus Programme).

Virtual presentations of the proposals by manufacturers and local authorities, which were scheduled to take place the following day on January 7, 2021 were cancelled! No reason has been given for the suspension. The school bus market has been an important market segment during the pandemic accounting for up to a third of domestic production in Brazil.
