Brazil - Fras-le, the brake components division of Randon Empresas S.A. of Caxias do Sul, RS reported record results for the third quarter (July to September) 2020 with net revenues of BRA453.6m (USD85m), 36% higher than for the same period last year, and gross revenues of BRA647m (USD120m), an increase of 35% on the same basis of comparison. As a result, gross profit reached BRA150.6m (USD28m), 80% higher than the third quarter of 2019, while EBITDA totalled BRA94.2m (USD18m), an increase of 118%. It was the best quarter of the last ten years for the company, Fras-le announced, which has been on the market for almost seven decades.

The result reflects the implementation of a strategy developed to generate greater competitiveness for the business, focussing on expanding revenues and offering new products through acquisition. It has also gone through a process of adjustments since the end of 2018, which has included investment in technology, readjustment of production lines, changes to work processes to gain productivity and to reduce costs.
