Brazil - After two years of testing the e-Delivery truck made by Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus of Resende (a Traton Group subsidiary), drinks company, Ambev*, based in São Paulo has formalized agreement for delivery of the first 100 e-Delivery electric trucks from the second half of 2021. The new vehicles are to be used to distribute Ambev’s drinks throughout the cities of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. The deal is part of the company’s commitment to have 1,600 Volkswagen electric trucks in its fleet by 2023.

Trials of the e-Delivery truck includes tests covering 30,000 kilometres in real operating conditions in the city of São Paulo, which resulted in savings of more than 22 tons of CO2 in emissions and 6,500 litres of diesel.
