Portugal / Brazil - Caetano Bus of Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal, says it is focusing sales of its electric bus chassis predominantly to markets located outside Western Europe, according to Jörg Pinto CEO of the Salvador Caetano Group in an interview with T&BB at Busworld in late October.

Pinto said prototype chassis had already been sent to Brazil for the South American markets, and that the company was in the process of developing prototypes for several other markets outside Europe. However, he also confirmed the company was working with one specific European bodybuilder partner for one specific market, but it was too soon to divulge the name. Pinto pointed out that as an experienced body builder, Caetano Bus has the knowledge and understanding of what body builders want from a chassis supplier, which gives it an advantage in the new era of electro-mobility.
