Fiat Powertrain Technologies buys Dolphin N2 start-up from Ricardo

Italy / UK - Fiat Powertrain Technologies Industrial or FPT Industrial of Turin, Italy, the global powertrain brand of CNH Industrial NV, headquartered in London, UK last month announced its agreement to acquire 100% of Dolphin N2, a start-up company formed in 2017 specializing in innovative internal combustion engine technology from global strategic engineering and environmental consultancy, Ricardo plc of Shoreham, UK.

Dolphin N2 is a spin-out company, created internally in 2017 at Ricardo as a separate group following an Innovate UK project “StepCo2″. This project was made up of a consortium of UK manufacturers and universities, led by Ricardo PLC to develop split cycle technology and to produce a demonstration engine.
