Germany – August saw composites manufacturer, Lamilux Composites GmbH, based in Rehau, Bavaria, Germany, unveil new high-tech composites for the bus industry. The new material, called X-treme, has been specially developed for commercial vehicle applications that are subject to very high mechanical stress. The material is suitable as a side wall element due to its resistance to hailstorms and resistance to UV radiation. Lamilux X-treme is used often as a single segment in the outer wall of the bus. The advantage is in the event of damage, it can be replaced quickly and installed easily. This reduces downtimes for fleet operators.
