Indian tractor sales boom 43.5% in Q2 of FY2023-24

India - Tractor sales grew by 43.5% during the second quarter (Q2) of FY 2023-24 to register 17,539 units compared with 12,221 units in the same quarter of the previous year (FY 2022-23). Tractor production increased by 50.7% from 11,570 units to 17,437 units and export sales declined by 50.6%.
The light-weight tractor (26.4 tons < GVW ≤ 40 tons) segment saw sales rise by 59.1% to 2,137 units in the Q2 of FY 2023-24, up from 1,343 units in the Q2 of FY 2022-23. Production almost doubled in the same period but output was fewer than half the domestic sales that quarter.
