Chilean commercial vehicle segment enjoys stable growth of 7.2% in 2018

Chile - According to data released by Chilean National Automotive Association (Associacion Nacional Automotriz de Chile - ANAC), which is based in Santiago de Chile, the Chilean market for commercial vehicles closed the 2018 year with sales of 17,038 units, an increase of 7.2% compared with 15,887 units in 2017.

Truck (3.5t gvw and above) sales increased by 6.7% to 14,020 units compared with 13,144 units in the previous year. Bus sales increased by 10.1% to register 3,020 units compared with 2,743 units in 2017. The last month of December saw a notable rise in registrations of 16.6% to record sales of 1,309 new trucks, and registrations of 445 new buses, an increase of 37.6% compared with December 2017 (323 units).
