BYD to work with Superpolo and Busscar Colombia to deliver order of 1,002 e-buses to Bogotá

Colombia / China - BYD Co Ltd of Shenzhen, China, has won an order to supply Bogotá, Colombia with 1,002, 9m and 12m electric feeder buses from Bogotá City Public Transport Authority (TransMilenio S.A.), which sets a record for a single overseas order.
This order follows BYD’s recent delivery in December 2020 of 470, 100% electric buses to Bogotá from an order placed back in October 2019. The first batch of 120 units out of the 470 delivered went into operation on December 26, 2020, which will serve approximately 69,300 passengers a day. The remaining 350 units are expected to go into service on one of 30 other routes during the first quarter of 2021.
