CaetanoBus wins order for eight hydrogen buses from Barcelona

Portugal / SpainCaetanoBus of Villa Nova De Gaia in December announced an order for eight hydrogen 12m buses from Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) for operation in the city of Barcelona for delivery at the end of 2021. The TMB order is supported by the European JIVE 2 programme, for the promotion of fuel cell vehicles and co-financed by the European Union.

As part of this project, TMB says it, together with Zona Franca Consortium (CZFB), is building a plant for the production, storage and refuelling of hydrogen for Caetano’s eight H2. City Gold fuel cell buses, that is also capable of providing hydrogen fuel to other fleets and other fuel cell-powered commercial vehicles. It is expected to be the first hydrogen fuelling station of this kind in Spain.
