Eaton releases sealed high-power lock box connectors

Eaton high-power lock box (HPLB) connectors

USA – Ohio-based power management firm, Eaton Corporation, announced that it is selling power connectors for EVs through its eMobility unit. Eaton says the high-power lock box (HPLB) connectors in its eMobility’s Power Connections portfolio save space, cost less, and are easier to manufacture than competing products.

Electrical connectivity components manufacturer Royal Power Solutions, which Eaton bought in 2022, created the HPLB connectors. These connector locks use an “inside-out” contact system and are fully sealed, reducing heat radiation and protecting against corrosion and extreme vibration. They meet USCAR Safety Performance Requirements for component service life. Moreover, the HPLB connectors can be installed by a “pick-and-place” robot for precise and safe connections.
