Nikola fuel cell truck to be fitted with ZF automatic emergency braking & blind spot detection

USA / Germany – New fuel cell electric trucks produced by Nikola Corporation of Phoenix, Arizona will now feature automatic emergency braking and blind spot detection, according to supplier ZF Friedrichshafen AG of Friedrichshafen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. 

The ‘Nikola Tre’ range of Class 8 fuel cell trucks, which is now in production, will come with two ZF advanced driver assistance systems: ‘OnGuardMAX’ and ‘OnSideALERT’. The former is ZF’s automatic emergency braking system, which interprets signals from cameras and radars to detect and react to other road users in close proximity to the front of the vehicle.
