Founded in 2013, FirstElement Fuel operates 41 hydrogen fuel stations in California for light vehicle under its ‘True Zero’ brand.

Late last year in New York, Trevor Milton was sentenced to four years in prison, convicted of fraud after persistently lying to investors and the general public about the capabilities of Nikola’s EV products and technologies.

As head of Nikola’s energy division, Cappello will direct the company’s ‘Hyla’ brand, which is involved in the production and distribution of hydrogen for fuelling purposes.

The commercial launch coincided with the completion of Phase-2 construction of the manufacturing facility in Coolidge, Arizona.
