Maxion Structural Components plant in Mexico

Mexico / Brazil - Chassis components supplier, Maxion Structural Components (a division of Iochpe – Maxion SA) of Cruzeiro, São Paulo, Brazil is to invest MEX 1.3 billion (USD 65 million) in a new chassis components manufacturing plant at its Mexican facility in the northern city of Castaños, Coahuila State.

The expansion of the facility in Castaños, referred to as New PLANT 3, is to increase its volume capacity as well as to incorporate the very latest “state of the art manufacturing equipment and processes for manufacturing chassis rails to support growing demand from the NAFTA markets.” New Plant 3 is scheduled to begin operations in March 2025, with a production capacity of 180,000 chassis frame rails annually, equivalent to 90,000 trucks per year. Maxion Structural Components says the new plant, when fully operational, will generate 500 additional direct jobs and more than 500 indirect jobs during its construction.
