Pailton invests in a low volume production cell

UK - Pailton Engineering, the Coventry-based steering system manufacturer, has invested in a low volume production cell (LVC) specifically for small batch orders and pre-production sample manufacturing. The LVC comprises new, high-quality CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines expected to increase work-flow efficiency and cut lead times significantly. The investment has also reduced changeover times between batch and full-scale production.

Creation of the LVC provides a dedicated area for small batch processing, away from the main factory floor allowing faster processing of complex small batches which would otherwise take up resources on the main shop floor – impeding mainstream production efficiency. It means new steering part samples can be produced quickly, proven and validated before being sent to the client as part of the pre-production phase.
