Mobility Networks to supply Hato Bus Company with coach lifts

UK / Belgium / Japan - From the second quarter 2019, mobile lift supplier, Whitstable-based Mobility Networks Group is to supply Japan's Hato Bus Company with lifts for a selection of its tourist coaches – notably those designated for inbound tourists. The lifts are to be used for transporting luggage efficiently while adhering to Japanese health and safety requirements; in particular, the protection of drivers’ backs.

The newly developed lift model is the result of a collaboration between the engineers at PLS (Passenger Lift Services), a Mobility Networks company, and their counterparts at Belgium coach builder,  Van Hool and Hato Bus – the lift design is based on that which is ordinarily used by wheelchair passengers. However, due to customer requirements many technical obstacles needed to be overcome to satisfy legislation.
