Transdek UK extends use of Kommerling adhesives to build latest reefer trailer body

UK – Doncaster-based double-deck trailer building specialist, Transdek UK, has extended its relationship with adhesives and sealants specialist, Kommerling Chemische Fabrik GmbH of Pirmasens, Germany in using the company's adhesive products1 in the design and construction of ten of its latest refrigerated ‘Wedge’ trailers2.
Transdek says whilst truck and trailer body assembly using bonding adhesives is more common on the Continent, it is being used increasingly in the UK to replace traditional mechanical fasteners. The company says bonding load restraint tracks to side panels, for example, gives far greater strength, as the adhesives spread the load along the track length.
