VECV introduces AMT for Eicher Pro 3016

Pithampur – Commercial vehicle manufacturer, VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd (VECV) of Pithampur - the commercial vehicle manufacturing joint venture and subsidiary of Sweden’s Volvo AB and Eicher Motors Ltd of Gurugram, India - has introduced Wabco’s OptiDrive AMT system to its 6-speed gearbox in the Eicher Pro 3016 16t gvw rigid truck model. The Eicher Pro 3016 is fitted with a E494, 4-cylinder CRS 165hp engine with Volvo Group engine management system (EMS 3.0) is now matched with the ET40S6(6F+1R) gearbox with AMT. The AMT system also offers Hill Start Assist that can prevent the vehicle from rolling backwards on steep inclines.

AMT is offered as an option as a benefit to driver welfare by reducing driver fatigue. The AMT is being fitted to the Volvo engine plant in Pithampur.
