Poland / Italy / France – As part of the management plan for its European operations and on-going restructuring of its production, the Wielton Group of Wieluń, Poland has announced that last year it bought from the receivers of the Italian Trailer Company, the large factory in Tocco da Casauria (Pescara), run formerly under  Merker trailer name.

Due to the remote location of the plant, Wielton decided to ship much of the manufacturing equipment to two of its European plants in Auxerre, France (Fruehauf) and Wieluń in Poland (Wielton). According to Andrzej Mowczan, commercial director at Wielton, a decision on what to do with the factory and land in Pescara will be taken this year.
