Brazil - Prior to the Ford announcement that it was pulling out of production and sales in South America, Ford Brasil Ltda of São Bernardo do Campo, State of São Paulo delivered to waste management group, Marquise Ambiental Ltda*, a prototype of a new Cargo Kolector 8x2 truck model with a 24 cubic metre (cu m) compaction body; a first in the refuse segment with this large capacity. The vehicle has been undergoing prototype testing in Fortaleza, Ceará, which is where the refuse collection operator has its headquarters.

Already nicknamed ‘Super truck’, this new refuse truck body offers a capacity that is 14% larger than is currently available on the market at 21 cu m. It is based on the Ford Cargo 1723 8x2/2 and is fitted with a second directional front axle, pneumatic suspension and Ford Torqshift automated transmission, together with several features for increased productivity.
