UK - The UK’s first full-sized autonomous bus has begun trials in a Manchester bus depot. The ground-breaking project is part of a programme combining transport operator, Stagecoach Group of Perth; bus manufacturer, Alexander Dennis Ltd (ADL) of Lambert and technology company, Fusion Processing Ltd of Bristol.

The 11.5m ADL Enviro200 single deck city bus is able to operate autonomously within the Stagecoach Sharston depot in Wythenshawe, Manchester. The bus has been fitted with the CAVstar system provided by Fusion Processing, which allows it to function in autonomous mode within the depot environment, to carry out movements such as parking and, moving to and from the bus wash. The first public demonstration of the autonomous bus was held on March 18, 2019.
