UK – Strong seven-year growth at one of Europe largest manufacturers of liquid waste vacuum tankers and jetting equipment, Whale Tankers Ltd has led to the company to expand its manufacturing base at its headquarters in Solihull, according to Chris Anderson, commercial director of Whale Tankers at the CV Show in Birmingham last month. Anderson suggested the company’s turnover had risen from GBP12m in 2013 to GBP18m in 2018, and turnover would total some GBP23m in 2019 - this figure does not include its Indian business (Whale Enterprise Pvte Ltd of Coimbatore, Tamilnadu State, India).

Anderson said its development strategy, under the name Vision 2020, included an extension of 45,000 square feet to its manufacturing floor space in Solihull. This investment is primarily intended as an extension to its paint shop with an upgrade to new paint processes relating to quality and speed of operation. The investment also includes a new test area; new rebuild area and electrical testing facility, which includes electromagnetic compatibility testing.
