Whale Tankers unveils UK’s first full-electric gulley and jetting tanker at CV Show

UK / The Netherlands - Producer of specialist tankers, Whale Tankers Ltd of Solihull unveiled the UK’s first fully electric medium volume combination (MVC) tanker at this year’s CV Show last month.
Branded eWhale, this latest multi-functional gully cleaner and drain jetter features two electric power take offs to drive the vacuum pump and jetter pumps separately. The 19t gvw truck, a converted DAF LF by Dutch firm, Emoss Mobile Systems BV of Oosterhout, has two e-PTOs, which are powered by two banks of chassis-mounted lithium battery packs that deliver power via a 9-phase process to a 250kW electric drive motor; this allows the eWhale to have the capacity to remain fully-operational over a normal vehicle shift pattern.
