Foton targets public utility vehicle segment in the Philippines with new models

Philippines / China - Foton Motors Philippines Inc of Mabalacat (a subsidiary of the United Asia Automotive Group Inc) has launched two new light commercial vehicle models in the Philippines to meet booming local demand for public utility vehicles (PUVs) – the vehicles are built to government specifications and designed to eventually replace the ageing fleet of Jeepneys as the main local public transport vehicles.

Hino, Isuzu and Mitsubishi-Fuso all have launched equivalent models in the last year or so, which have helped lift commercial vehicle sales in the country this year.
