Trailer builder, Montracon Ltd of Doncaster, at the bulk haulage show in Harrogate last month displayed its first tailor-made trailer for transporting scrap metal. The trailer has a cubic capacity of 81.2 cubic yards (62.1 cubic metres).

Jeff Wright, national sales manager, responsible for specialist products, said the vehicle on display was its prototype trailer featuring Domex steel side panels (3mm steel) and rear barn doors (4mm). It had a Hardox steel 6mm floor, but the new design offers a floor with 5mm steel offering a weight saving of 180kg.
