Keith Walking Floor Europe UK Ltd of Fenay Bridge, UK has introduced a new V-floor slat design that offers the customer numerous advantages over its previous design. Made from Domex steel, the new V-floor slat is wider and because it covers a wider surface there is more surface to move the load – in fact 94% of the floor surface is moving compared with 75% in the original design. Furthermore, the wider slat means fewer slats are needed reducing the number from nine to six.

Mark Allan, representve for Keith at the show suggested the design also allows a more efficient clean out when unloading (2.5 minutes for an asphalt trailer), more efficient unloading on an incline and the ability to haul a greater variety of materials. The new design also reduces the chance of material build up and offers a weight saving of up to 4lbs/ft compared with the previous design.
