Michelin TPMS now incorporates Wheel Safe function

UK – At this year's CV Show, Michelin's Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) was displayed with an added wheel safety feature. Developed by Wheely-Safe Ltd of Burntwood, UK, the system detects any slackening of wheel nuts via a sensor attached to the plate fixed between the rim and wheel nut. The TPMS registers any movement detected by the sensor and its in-cab display alerts the driver with a clear indication of which wheel is at fault.

Michelin recommends all wheel nuts should be tightened to 7% higher torque than the standard setting when the wheel safe device is installed.
