Sweden / USA - Parameter Plus Package is a new software application package from Volvo Trucks North America Inc of Greenboro, NC, USA allowing up to 50 parameter updates annually per vehicle. It is designed to provide added value to customers’ bottom lines through maximised vehicle uptime, Volvo Trucks’ states.

According to Volvo, customers are demanding faster ways of communication through connectivity. The new Parameter Plus Package is a supplement to Volvo’s Remote Programming designed with thorough feedback from customers to meet the demands of their applications via over-the-air (OTA) updates to significantly increase uptime and to maintain firm control on cost. Previously, parameter and software updates, where the trucks needed to be brought to the service point, could require two or more days of downtime, along with the added work and costs of acquiring a supplementary truck and managing driver logistics. The new Parameter Plus Package with OTA powertrain software allows updates to be completed in less than 20 minutes and parameter updates in less than 10 minutes.
