Sweden / Denmark - Volvo Trucks’ electric, connected and autonomous vehicle, Vera – a cabless tractor unit, which was first seen at the IAA in Hanover - is to form part of an integrated solution to transport goods from a logistics centre to a port terminal in Gothenburg. The assignment is a result of a new collaboration between Volvo Trucks and the Danish ferry operator and European logistics company, DFDS¹.

Volvo and DFDS plan to implement Vera in a real application, enabling a connected transport system for a continuous flow of goods from a DFDS’ logistics centre to an international port facility in Gothenburg, operated by Dutch firm, APM Terminals2. Vera is designed for repetitive assignments in logistics centres, factories and ports, suited for short distances and for transporting large volumes of goods with high precision.
