DAF aims to double sales in 2019 in Brazil

Brazil - DAF Trucks Brazil Ltda of Ponta Grossa, Paraná estimates its sales by the end of the year will be almost double those registered in 2018, with more than 4,500 units registered. This would follow on from a strong year in 2018, which saw registrations exceed 2,300 units that was more than double that of 2017, when 1,048 vehicles were registered. Its sales in 2018 resulted in the brand achieving 3% market-share in the Brazilian market; very close to Iveco, which registered 3.6% in the period.

Carlos Ayala, president of DAF Trucks Brazil said since the beginning of last year, the goal of the brand is to reach 10% penetration in the heavy truck segment, which exceeded 19,000 vehicles between January and May. With 1,188 units, it already has 6% market share.
