Ecuador / Japan - Teojama Comercial S.A. of Cuenca, Ecuador, the main distributor of the Hino truck and bus brand in Ecuador, has delivered a new bus fleet of 53 Hino AK 8JRSA buses to Ecuadorian public transport cooperatives, Tomebamba and Turismo Baños, in the city of Cuenca. These 53, Hino Euro 3 compliant buses are part of a tender won by Teojama Comercial to renew the city's bus fleet by supplying a total of 475 new vehicles within the next two years.

The new buses are 12.25 meters long and 2.45 meters wide and offer a capacity of 90 passengers with an average of 35 seats, of which six are reserved for people with disabilities, pregnant women and the elderly. The vehicles, which are imported fully built up from Japan, are equipped with a 247hp Euro 3 engine and a Hino MF06 manual 6-speed transmission. The bus is specified with a high level of comfort and safety; an example of a safety mechanism is the driver is prevented from driving off when the doors are open.
