Brazil - Iveco Brasil Ltda* of Sete Lagoas, Minas Gerais, Brazil has reinforced its medium-duty Tector truck range with two new models - the 9.190 and the 11.190 - in the nine- and 11-tons gross vehicle weight segments. Designed for the urban cargo distribution operations, they mark Iveco’s re-entry into the medium-light (6<gvw>10 tons gvw) and the medium-duty (10<gvw>15 tons) segments, in which it has not participated since the end of the production of Vertis in 2015. The launch of the two models, which are to be produced in Sete Lagoas, represent three years of development work and investments totalling BRA40m (USD10m), Iveco stated.

Ricardo Barion, sales and marketing director at Iveco Brazil said the timing was right to re-enter the medium light and medium trucks segments with Ford pulling out of the truck market in Brazil and with just two other key players in these two weight classes; Volkswagen Trucks and Buses with Delivery, and Mercedes-Benz, with Accelo.
