Brazil - At the end of May, JAC Motors Brasília SIA of Guará, Brasília, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Brazilian company, SHC Group of Brasil (the official representative of China's Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Corp Ltd, also known as JAC Motors), announced the launch of an electric light-duty truck in Brazil. Called the JAC iET 1200 5.8t gvw truck (iET is an acronym for Intelligent Energy Truck, while the 1200 is for maximum torque; more commonly seen in diesel trucks with higher gross weights from 25 to 30 tonnes), JAC says orders can be placed now with deliveries scheduled for the end of the year.

The JAC iET 1200 is a lightweight model for goods distribution operations in urban centres and is designed to be a direct competitor of Volkswagen’s e-Delivery, whose first prototypes are undergoing trials transporting beverages for the brewery Ambev.
