Brazil - In partnership with Volvo Buses Latin America of Curitiba, Marcopolo SA of Caxias do Sul, in May and June delivered 120 new buses for the urban public transport system, Red Mobilidad (formerly Transantiago) in the Chilean capital city of Santiago. This is the first new supply of vehicles after the change in name of the system, which occurred last March and was announced by President Sebastián Piñera.

The vehicles were delivered to the operator Subus, one of the main operators in Santiago. The 13.2m long Torino Low Entry model incorporates Volvo B8R chassis, which has the Volvo D8K six-cylinder Euro VI diesel engine, with an output of 280hp and 1,050Nm, Volvo I-Shift AT 2412F automated transmission and a cab that highlights safety and ergonomics for drivers.  Use of the Euro VI diesel engine reduces emissions of particulate matter by 66% and of NOx by 80% compared with the current Euro III vehicles in operation. The Torino Low Entry buses are also fitted with an air conditioning system, USB sockets, stainless steel bars and handgrips for passengers, bonded glass and preparation for installation of all the fleet management equipment used in Red Mobilidad.
