Brazil / Aruba - Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus (VWCO) of Resende, Rio de Janeiro state (a subsidiary of Germany’s Traton Group) together with bus body builder, Mascarello Carrocerias e Ônibus Ltda* of Cascavel, Paraná state, has delivered 15 buses with Volksbus 17,280 OT chassis and Mascarello Gran Metro bodywork to Aruba in the Caribbean. The vehicles have automatic transmissions, air-conditioning and are the first units sold by VW to the Caribbean country.

VWCO says the Volksbus 17,280 OT is designed to operate in severe urban transport conditions and it is suitable for bodies up to 13.2m. The MAN D08 Euro V engine uses an EGR system, which eliminates the use of SCR system and Ad-Blue.
