Brazil / Ivory Coast - Randon Implementos of Caxias do Sul, the trailer and specialty equipment division of Randon SA* has exported its first tank trailer for USD60,000 to the Ivory Coast for transporting diesel. José Eduardo Dalla Nora director of Randon Implementos says the Ivory Coast offers Randon a good market potential and this initial transaction could potentially lead to further orders of up to 150 new units / year.

Nora says its strategy is to work with a local partner, Lassire, based in Abidjan, to supply small batches fully built tanker trailers to the Ivory Coast directly from Brazil. Should the order book increase, it would then consider supply of completely knocked down kits (CKDs) with local assembly and commercialization.
