Belgium / Germany – Logistics operator, B&H Logistik of Berlin, Germany last month received a container trailer chassis featuring a bespoke combination from Thermo King of gen set and solar panels to power refrigerated containers. Created by German dealer, Transportkühlung Thermo King GmbH of Hamburg, the container chassis features an underslung Thermo King SGCM300 genset combined with ThermoLite solar panel (located between the chassis rails), which enables the operator to increase the reliability and efficiency of its operations.

Thermo King stated that even in low light, Thermo King’s solar panels collect energy to keep the battery fully charged. This eliminates the risk of battery discharge and reduces the need to use the genset engine to charge the battery, contributing to reduced fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
