Brazil - DAF Caminhões Brasil Ltda, the Brazilian subsidiary of Dutch truck builder, DAF Trucks NV (a Paccar Inc company) of Eindhoven, has announced it is expanding its facilities in Ponta Grossa, State of Paraná with the construction of a new 15,000 square metre DAF parts distribution centre.  An agreement to develop this new centre was signed by DAF and the government of Paraná in late September, and it consequently forms part of the Paraná Competitivo program – a local state programme to encourage economic development.

The new distribution hub is to complement the marketing strategy in the country, which saw DAF Brasil last year receive the support of Paccar Financial, the financial arm of Paccar Inc, which provides financial service support to the customers of DAF, Kenworth and Peterbilt globally. With available funds of BRA400m, the institution provides financing to end customers and credit for DAF dealerships. Consumer leasing and concessionary working capital is being made available from 2020. (In 2018, Paccar Financial financed worldwide 24% of sales of all the group's brands; its portfolio of financed vehicles exceeds 198,000 trucks and trailers and total assets amount to USD14.4bn).
