Scania supplies 37 gas buses for Puebla’s BRT in Mexico

Sweden / Mexico - Scania Mexico of Querétaro, Mexico has supplied 37 gas-powered buses to the Bus Rapid Transit system in Puebla– a city southeast of Mexico City, where they are to supplement the 27 Scania articulated diesel buses, supplied in 2015, operating on the 32km Red Urbana de Transporte Articulado (RUTA1) system in the city of Puebla, southern Mexico. 

Marcopolo Mexico2, which assembles it bus bodies at the Polomex plant (a JV between Mercedes-Benz and Marcopolo)  in the city of Monterrey, has bodied 12 of the articulated buses. A further 12 conventional 12m buses have been bodied by Mexican coachbuilder, Ayco3 of Huehuetoca. No details have emerged concerning the remainder.
