Brazil - Volkswagen Trucks and Buses (VWCO) of Resende, Brazil, presented at the NTU (National Association of Urban Transport Companies) National Seminar, held in Brasilia at the end of August, the first 15m city bus with second directional front axle in the country. This is the first four-axle 15m front engine city bus in 8(2)x2 configuration and compliments the 15m version on 3-axles (6x2) introduced to the market by VWCO in 2018. Both vehicles are limited to 22 tons gvw.

Developed in partnership with BMB Mode Center Ltda, its specialist chassis modification partner with operations also in Resende, the 15m chassis, when fitted with the second front directional axle adds little significant weight to the vehicle, the company said; nor does it interfere with the bodywork. The vehicle was presented with Caio Apache Vip IV bodywork in Brasilia.
