Daimler India begins series production of BSVI engines

ChennaiDaimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt Ltd (DICV) of Oragadam, near Chennai, a subsidiary of Germany’s Daimler AG, has started series production of its BS VI-compliant OM 926 six cylinder engines together with MD2 Box Aftertreatment systems in India. This engine is to be offered with two power options of 230hp and 280hp.

In 2017, DICV stated it worked in a global partnership with other Daimler engineering teams in Brazil, Germany, and the USA with the goal of upgrading key components to comply with BS VI standards by January 2020.
